Time to Stock Up on Diapers!

Walgreens is having a sale on Huggies right now for $9.49 a jumbo pack (44 diapers- size 1) down from about $10.50. They, also, have a $10 off $40 purchase coupon here:

http://www.walgreens.com/hotbuys/default.html?ban=flh_store_10off_40

that you can use in the store. Plus, I have a number of $1.50 off coupons for Huggies and I get $1 back for each Huggies purchase through the Caregivers Marketplace here:

www.caregiversmarketplace.com

That brings my grand total to $5.40 a jumbo or about 12.2 cents a diaper, which isn't too shabby! This will help me get to the 500 size 1 diapers that it's suggested our little boy will use.

A Favorite Blog- Cause I'm Cheap!

One of my favorite websites is a blog at http://babycheapskate.blogspot.com/. It's a great resource for all things baby and toddler on sale. Something I have been using already, in preparation for our little bitty witte, is a cheat sheet for good diaper deals. I've shown it above (click on the image to see it enlarged) and you can find it here:
http://babycheapskate.googlepages.com/HowManyDiapers2.pdf
It lists quantities per diaper size and the price to beat, so that you know you're getting a good deal.

Ultrasound #3

Well, the baby and I are still healthy and he's looking cuter every time I see him int he ultrasound. Unfortunately, my placenta is still too low, but it is at 1.7 cm from 1.3 cm at the last ultrasound and it only needs to move .3 cm more and we are in the clear. I'm not worried because it seems to be moving into place, just really slowly. I am allowed to gain 10 more pounds and I have 8 weeks to go at this point, so I think my weights doing pretty good now.

Acid Reflux is Not My Friend

All day yesterday I was having really bad acid reflux. Last night at 2:00 am the acid reflux woke me up and I couldn't get back to sleep. I asked Nathan if he could find me some Tums because I thought that might help. Well, while he was downstairs rummaging around, I started feeling a little sick and I started salivating a lot. At that point I jumped up and ran to the bathroom and proceeded to throw up what was left of my dinner. Tums were never found, but Nathan got me some water as I brushed my teeth and I had no problem getting back to sleep. I did put an extra pillow under my head and I think that may have helped.

Poor Nathan got woken up by his vomitous wife.

The Stuff that Dreams are Made Of

I haven't really been having any crazy baby dreams so far, but I did have one the other night that I'll relate. I was doing nothing much in my dream and I looked down and our little boy was pressing out so much that I could see the outline of all his features. It was like he was encased fully in my skin, but outside the normal range of my belly. I looked down and said,"Oh, so that's what he looks like" and then he went back in. Strange dream.

Nathan had a dream a couple of weeks ago where he had put the baby in a strange pack-n-play that was a few feet too short and had a lid. Our baby kept trying to stand up, but there wasn't enough head room. Don't worry, readers, we tested out our pack-n-play this weekend and it is the right height with no strange lid.

Stay tuned for another ultrasound photo this week as we find out if that darned placenta has moved 7 millimeters.

Somersaults

Two more months to go! So far he has amped up his kicking and moving around. Sometimes I think he goes days without sleeping, but it doesn't bother me at all and tends to make me giggle. I continue to sleep well at night with minimum late night excursions to the restroom.

My only complaint is that my feet have been swelling up by the end of the day and I have to blame my chair, at work, for this as it is a little raised up and I think it limits the circulation a bit.

Stubborn Placenta

At my latest OB appointment I found out that I DO NOT have Gestational Diabetes, so I went out and celebrated with ice cream ( not really). The doctor, also, discussed my placenta. She wasn't too concerned about its location and told me that I wouldn't need a c-section as long as things proceed normally during delivery...no abnormal bleeding and stuff. I was happy to hear that. I'll still have another ultrasound, but it's nice to know I have options for a natural delivery if that placenta doesn't move. Stupid placenta, I think the fact that it's the lifeline to my baby has gone to its head and it thinks it can just hang out wherever it wants to.

I have 10 weeks left at this point and I've gained 18 pounds which means I'm "allowed" to gain 12 more pounds. I think that's doable.

Nursery Photos!

Sometimes the photos I take of myself turn out a bit interesting or I end up looking like I have 3 chins.

Below are the photos of our "completed" nursery. We haven't purchased a crib yet, so that's still missing from the room. Nathan had an old model airplane kit of a B-17, so I decided to put that together without its skin and hang it from the wall. The fan we installed is a little reminiscent of that, but I didn't include a photo of it. The walls are a light aqua color and carpet tiles from Flor are in a checkerboard pattern. It's hard to see, but above the white chair in the last photo you can see a sample of the jacks that I painted on the wall. I know it's hard to see as they are in white on an already light wall. The lighting was a bit tricky during lunch today, so the photos were a little difficult to come by. I will post more as the finishing touches are applied.

Architecture: Human and Otherwise

You may have noticed that this weekly photo is in color, compared to the rest which are black and white. Nathan took my mom and I on a tour of his Park Pavillion in Portage, IN and I just couldn't take away the beautiful color of the sky against his building. A more complete photo of his building is posted below. I can't wait until it's completed!

I saw a similar photo on a website so I decided to rip it off and do one with Nathan. I just liked the personal feeling in it with our hands together.
